Demonte Colony 2 gets a release window: Arulnithi's horror thriller sequel will be out in cinemas soon

Actor Arulnithi and director R Ajay Gnanamuthu delivered one of the most spine-chilling horror flicks in 2015 with Demonte Colony. The film garnered overwhelming responses and became a blockbuster at the box office. Nine years after its release, the makers are set to bring the sequel to all horror genre fans! They took to their social media handles to announce that the film will be released in August 2024. Although the makers have announced the release window, the exact release date is yet to be disclosed.

Demonte Colony 2 cast and crew

Directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu, the upcoming film will be part of the director’s Demonte Colony franchise. Besides Arulnithi, the film will also feature Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female lead, along with Arun Pandian, Muthukumar, Meenakshi Govindarajan, and Archana Ravichandran in supporting roles. Demonte Colony 2 is the second in the horror thriller series, with the director planning to produce third and fourth installments later. 

On the technical front, the film will have Sam CS scoring the original background music and soundtracks, while Harish Kannan has handled the cinematography. D. Ravi Pandi has handled the editing, and Kumaresh is in charge of the art direction. Demonte Colony 2 is jointly bankrolled by Ajay Gnanamuthu and Vijay Subramanian under the banners of White Lights Entertainment and Gnanamuthu Pattarai.

Demonte Colony 2 trailer

Earlier in December 2023, the makers unveiled the trailer of the film. The glimpse begins with Arulnithi realizing that he is now a wandering soul trapped in a dangerous realm. Back in the present day, the trailer showcases Priya Bhavani Shankar's character, who discovers her skills to foresee the afterlife, encountering Arulnithi's wandering spirit. Arulnithi plays two characters in the trailer, with his living character becoming the only hope to save the trapped spirit as mysterious deaths continue to increase. 

While the first film was an instant hit among fans, they are eagerly waiting to see if the sequel will live up to expectations.
