Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is celebrating her 39th birthday today, with the internet joining in to make it a grand celebration by wishing the actress on her special day. While she is being showered with love and admiration from various artists across different industries, one particular birthday note has netizens going ‘aww.’

It’s from none other than pan-India superstar Prabhas, who took to his social media pages to express a heartfelt birthday wish to his Kalki 2898 AD co-star, Deepika Padukone.

The Baahubali actor shared a photo of the actress and wrote, “Happy birthday to the ever-talented Deepika Padukone! Wishing you joy, success, and endless happiness.”

For context, the duo was last seen together in their maiden collaboration, the 2024 magnum opus film Kalki 2898 AD, which boasted an ensemble cast including Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, and others. The film revolves around a dystopian era where the modern avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu, Kalki, descends to Earth to fight evil forces. While Prabhas portrays dual roles as Bhairava and Karnan, Deepika Padukone plays the role of Sumati. Amitabh Bachchan stars as Ashwatthama, and Kamal Haasan takes on the role of the main antagonist, Supreme Yaskin.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is set to reunite with her Kalki 2898 AD co-star Prabhas for the sequel to the spectacle very soon. Vyjayanthi Films, the producers backing the film series, revealed that Deepika Padukone's character, Sumati, will reprise her role in the sequel. They also confirmed that Deepika will resume shooting for the project after her maternity break. For those unaware, the birthday girl welcomed her daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, in 2024.

The producers further revealed that Kalki 2 is currently in the pre-production phase, with approximately 30-35% of the movie already completed during the production of the first installment.

Addressing rumors about the sequel’s shooting schedule, the producers clarified that filming dates are yet to be finalized, quashing speculation about a confirmed start date. For the uninitiated, Kalki 2898 AD is the first installment in the Kalki Cinematic Universe, envisioned as a trilogy.
