‘Deepika or Priyanka was better choice’: Netizens react to Kriti Sanon’s first motion poster as Janaki from Adipurush
Kriti Sanon’s first look as Janaki from Adipurush is powerful and gave some fans goosebumps. But many netizens are unsure about the casting now
When the first teaser of Adipurush was launched last year, movie lovers had a lot to say about the much awaited Om Raut spectacle. Saif Ali Khan’s first look as Lankesh received backlash while the VFX was deemed fit for Cartoon Network. But one feature that filled hearts with love, and even haters couldn’t troll, was the sweet chemistry between lead pair Prabhas and Kriti Sanon. Not just on-screen but even off-screen on the launch event, the two looked perfect together. However, some netizens are not too sure about the casting anymore.
On Hanuman Janmotsav, Devdatta Nage was introduced as Hanuman followed by the lyrical motion poster. Today, on the occasion of Sita Navami, the makers of Adipurush paid a special tribute to Maa Sita by launching the first motion poster of Kriti as her character Janaki. The actress looked into the camera with tears in her eyes as she sat wearing a yellow-saffron coloured shawl over her head. It truly is one of the most powerful posters that the team has released so far and several fans got goosebumps on seeing Kriti in this avatar.
One fan, who was beyond impressed, even wrote: “Whole negativity for this movie got turned into goosebumps❤️.” However, in the comment section below, there are many netizens who are claiming that another actress would have been a better fit for Janaki’s character. For instance, a comment read: “Deepika lete to tehelka mach jata movie mein.. faad actress hai”, whereas another social media user wrote: “Why they didnt got anyone else for maa sita role🤦♀️🤦♀️Deepika or priyanka was better choice.” A third netizen wrote: “Change this actress ; replace in Deepika or Katrina or alia”, while another comment read: “Jai Shri Ram🙏but na to yeh Sita lag rhi hai aur na hi Prabhash Ram..”
Also starring Sunny Singh as Lakshmana, Adipurush is slated to arrive in theatres on 16th June. What did you think of Kriti’s motion poster as Janaki?
