Coolie update: Meet Simon aka Akkineni Nagarjuna from Rajinikanth-starrer

Happy Birthday, Nagarjuna! On the special occasion of the Telugu star’s birthday, the makers of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie took to their social media pages to share Nagarjuna’s character poster from the movie. The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Introducing the actor as Simon, the new monochromatic poster showcases a stylish Nagarjuna, sporting a black shirt paired with trendy shades. Similar to actor Soubin Shahir’s recently released poster, Nagarjuna is also seen wearing a gold watch, adjusting it on his wrist. Interestingly, the monochrome poster highlights the gold watch, along with a red piece of cloth that his character is using to clean it. The stylish new poster has sent fans into a frenzy, with netizens calling it the best birthday treat for the Telugu superstar.

The makers shared the new poster and wrote, “Introducing @iamnagarjuna as Simon, from the world of Coolie. Wishing the versatile performer King #Nagarjuna a Happy Birthday!”

Earlier, the makers had announced the exciting news about releasing the character posters of the leading stars in the Rajinikanth-starrer, starting with Manjummel Boys-fame Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir.

Is Nagarjuna playing a negative role?

Although the makers have not revealed many details about Nagarjuna’s character in the upcoming Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, it is speculated that he might play a key role in the gangster drama. Will he be an ally or a foe to superstar Rajinikanth in the film? We may have to wait patiently to find the answer to this intriguing question!

All about Coolie

Earlier, the makers of the upcoming action flick had released an explosive title teaser featuring Thalaivar Rajinikanth fighting goons in a factory-like setting. The short glimpse was shot in a monochromatic theme with only the gold color being highlighted. The teaser received a massive reception from viewers, who are eagerly waiting for the exciting collaboration.

Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie, starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, features several other well-known stars in key roles. Actress Shruti Haasan confirmed her involvement in the project on her social media pages, posting an Instagram story with the caption, “Day 1 Coolie.” So far, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, and Soubin Shahir are the confirmed cast members of the film.
