The latest about the casting is that Manjummel Boys actor Soubin Shahir has reportedly joined Rajinikanth's film.

According to the latest reports, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir, who became popular with Tamil audiences with the 2024 blockbuster Malayalam film Manjummel Boys, has reportedly joined the cast of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie. The team is currently shooting in Chennai, and if the rumours are to be believed, then Soubin will be making his dream Tamil debut in this Rajinikanth starrer. However, an official confirmation is still awaited. This new speculation has both Malayalam and Tamil fans excited, as they have adored Soubin’s performances in his Mollywood films.

Soubin rose to fame after his comic role as PT lecturer Shivan Sir in Premam. He gained further fame for his hard-hitting role as Saji in yet another fan-favourite film, Kumbalangi Nights. The actor began 2024 on a successful note with the superhit Manjummel Boys. He was especially loved by Tamil audiences. So, his involvement in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie has only further heightened the anticipation surrounding the upcoming gangster action drama.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the upcoming film Coolie, starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, features several other well-known stars in key roles. Actress Shruti Haasan has confirmed that she is a part of the movie on her social media pages, posting an Instagram story with the caption, “Day 1 Coolie.”

Besides Shruti, other speculated cast members include Sivakarthikeyan, Fahadh Faasil, Ranveer Singh, Shobana, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, and Mic Mohan. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the cinematography is handled by Girish Gangadharan.
