Coolie: Soubin Shahir set to make his Tamil debut opposite Rajinikanth | Check out poster of Dayal

After a long wait, the makers of the Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie have finally surprised audiences and fans with an exciting update. The team, who had earlier announced that character posters would be released starting today, began by welcoming Malayalam actor and Manjummel Boys star Soubin Shahir onboard. Introducing him as Dayal, the makers unveiled a gritty monochromatic poster of the actor.

The first-look poster of Soubin Shahir as Dayal features the actor in a monochromatic look. The actor is seen shirtless, wearing a black thread across his neck, and smoking a cigarette while holding a chunky gold watch, gazing intensely at it. The new poster has taken the internet by storm, as fans eagerly await the star's screen-sharing moments with superstar Rajinikanth. Interestingly, the film also marks the Tamil acting debut of the Manjummel Boys fame actor. 

About Soubin Shahir

Soubin rose to fame with his comic role as PT lecturer Shivan Sir in Premam. He gained further acclaim for his hard-hitting role as Saji in another fan-favorite film, Kumbalangi Nights. The actor began 2024 on a successful note with the superhit Manjummel Boys, where he was especially loved by Tamil audiences. His involvement in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie has only heightened the anticipation surrounding the upcoming gangster action drama.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the upcoming film Coolie, starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, features several other well-known stars in key roles. Actress Shruti Haasan confirmed her involvement in the movie on her social media pages, posting an Instagram story with the caption, “Day 1 Coolie.” 

The other speculated cast members include Sivakarthikeyan, Fahadh Faasil, Ranveer Singh, Shobana, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, and Mic Mohan. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and the cinematography is handled by Girish Gangadharan.
