Coolie
Even before the shooting began, Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s gangster drama Coolie was in the news. According to the latest reports, a major OTT platform and television partner have bagged the digital and satellite rights of the film. The movie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is undoubtedly one of the most exciting films that fans are looking forward to. And the update on the OTT rights has doubled the hype.
Coolie OTT partner
According to popular sources, the digital rights to Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film Coolie have been purchased by Amazon Prime for a massive amount. The satellite rights have been sold to Sun Television.
Interestingly, Coolie is the second consecutive Rajinikanth that has been bagged by Amazon Prime Video; the last one was the 2023 blockbuster Jailer. Notably, earlier reports revealed that Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, has reportedly been purchased by Amazon Prime.
Fans are particularly excited by the fact that Coolie's digital rights have been purchased by a major OTT platform even before its shoot has officially commenced. The hype around this movie is already so great that many are already calling it a blockbuster.
Fahadh Faasil in Coolie?
Although the makers of Coolie have been tight-lipped about the cast and crew, recent reports suggest that Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil will be joining Rajinikanth once again in Coolie. For the uninitiated, Fahadh and the Tamil superstar are also sharing screen space in Vettaiyan.
Interestingly, Fahadh has also worked with Lokesh Kanagaraj recently on the 2022 blockbuster hit Vikram. Recent reports suggest that the Malayalam actor will be playing a key role in Coolie. However, an official confirmation is awaited.
Other actors like Sathyaraj, Shobana, Shruti Haasan, Sivakarthikeyan, Ranveer Singh, Nagarjuna, and Mic Mohan are also rumoured to be part of the cast.
Reports suggest that the film, whose shoot was earlier scheduled to kick off in the first week of June, will now reportedly go on floors by the end of June or the first week of July.
