According to sources, the Hindi actor had been in negotiations with the makers of Coolie and has now finally agreed to join the project. Sources close to the team have confirmed that Aamir Khan has signed the contract for the film. Although his role is brief, it is expected to be impactful, bringing renewed energy to the production and elevating the film to a grander scale.

Sources also indicate that Aamir Khan's role in the film will be a cameo appearance, which is expected to be one of the most powerful roles seen in Lokesh's previous films. Naturally, the Bollywood star’s brief appearance is anticipated to generate a huge response from the audience. It is reported that Aamir will join the shooting schedule starting from October 15, 2024. An official announcement regarding his addition to the team is expected soon.

Lokesh Kanagaraj who had earlier revealed that Rajinikanth will be joining the next shooting schedule from October 16, 202, might be planning to shoot combination sequences between the two stars for the film. Coolie also marks Aamir Khan's exciting foray into South Indian cinema.

Interestingly, the film will mark the reunion of Aamir Khan and superstar Rajinikanth on screen after nearly three decades; the duo last appeared together in the 1995 movie Aatank Hi Aatank, which also starred Juhi Chawla.

The film is billed as a gangster action drama, with Rajinikanth’s character reportedly having grey shades. Nagarjuna is rumored to be playing the antagonist in the film.
