Chiyaan Vikram was in Hyderabad promoting his upcoming movie, Thangalaan. While discussing his latest film, he also addressed the rumours about being offered a key role in director SS Rajamouli's upcoming movie, SSMB29.

The project, temporarily titled SSMB29, marks the maiden collaboration between Rajamouli and Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. The film has garnered global attention, especially after Rajamouli's previous movie, RRR, won an Oscar last year, creating history.

The project has been in pre-production for over a year, with the producers, cast, and crew remaining tight-lipped about its current status. Aside from Mahesh's changing hairstyle, little information has been released about the movie's developments. Speculation has been rife about Vikram being cast in SSMB29, adding to the hype.

However, there seems to be little truth to this rumour. Vikram confirmed that while he looks forward to working with Rajamouli in the future, no specific project has been decided yet. "Rajamouli garu is a good friend. We have been talking for a while now. Of course, we will be doing a film sometime, but we haven’t zeroed in on any specifics," said Vikram.

SSMB29 is said to be an adventurous drama like Indiana Jones, with Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani scoring the music.

Meanwhile, Vikram is thrilled about Thangalaan, written and directed by Pa Ranjith. He plays the role of a tribal leader in the movie, set against the backdrop of British-occupied India.

Vikram has undergone a significant physical transformation for the role, which appears to explore the discovery of the Kolar gold mines. Thangalaan is set to release in cinemas on August 15.
