After teasing fans with the second single’s release date announcement, the makers of Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming sci-fi spectacle The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) took to social media handles to share a short promo for the song Chinna Chinna Kangal. The new song features Vijay crooning alongside the late singer Bhavatharini.

The GOAT team brings back Bhavatharini’s voice through AI

As reported earlier, the makers of the Venkat Prabhu directorial have paid a special tribute to the late singer Bhavatharini using Artificial Intelligence. The new promo for Chinna Chinna Kangal features Vijay humming alongside Bhavatharini’s voice, resulting in a melodious single ahead of Thalapathy Vijay’s 50th birthday on June 22. The new promo has caught the attention of fans who greatly missed the late singer’s voice. For the uninitiated, Bhavatharini was the daughter of music composer Ilaiyaraaja and the sister of composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. The late singer was known for her work in Oliyile Therivadhu Devathaiya, Aathadi Aathadi and Meherezylaa, among others. She passed away earlier this year due to cancer.

The full song will be released on Thalapathy Vijay’s birthday, June 22, 2024.

Interesting cameo appearances in Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time

Earlier, it was reported that the The GOAT team was also planning an AI cameo appearance by the late actor-politician Vijayakanth, who was Vijay’s mentor. Actor Ajmal Ameer, who plays a pivotal role in the film as a ‘squad member’, revealed earlier that a few Chennai Super Kings players will make cameo appearances alongside Thalapathy Vijay in the film. It is speculated that former captain MS Dhoni and Ruturaj of the Chennai Super Kings will make cameo appearances. Additionally, Sivakarthikayan is also expected to make a cameo appearance. However, there has been no official update on all these speculations.

Vijay, who will be playing dual roles in the film, will be sharing screen space with an impressive ensemble cast including Mic Mohan, Prashanth, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash, and Ajmal Ameer. The music for the film has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with Siddhartha Nuni as the cinematographer.
