Brother Teaser: Jayam Ravi plays a carefree man in this comedy entertainer | Watch

Jayam Ravi is all set to essay the role of a free-spirited man in his upcoming comedy entertainer Brother. The makers of the film recently shared the teaser. Sharing the glimpse, they wrote, “An out-and-out family entertainer! #BrotherTeaser is out now. Watch it here.” Directed by M. Rajesh, the new teaser showcases fun and entertaining elements that Tamil audiences can enjoy after a series of action dramas released this year.

The teaser begins with Rao Ramesh's character asking Jayam Ravi what his goals and aims in life are, to which he replies that he wishes to eat a lot and sleep as much as he can. The teaser then introduces the characters, with Priyanka Mohan playing the female lead. Jayam Ravi plays a carefree man, reminiscent of his vintage character from Santhosh Subramaniam. Overall, the teaser is captivating and promises to give Tamil audiences a break from the mindless violence and gore portrayed in recent films, instead offering a relaxed and family-oriented comedy entertainer.

Director M. Rajesh on avoiding violence in his films

At the recent audio launch of Brother, director M. Rajesh revealed that he is not into the portrayal of gore and violence on screen. He said that although his new film does have action sequences, he has not gone overboard with them. “I don’t generally use a lot of gore and violence in my films and I restrain myself from doing so as most of my films are family-oriented. Brother does have fight sequences, but it’s not as serious as you might think. I have given much prominence to comedy, so everyone along with their families can come and enjoy the film on the big screen this Diwali,” the director said.

Directed by Oru Kal Oru Kannadi fame M. Rajesh, Brother is a bilingual family drama, shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. It also marks Jayam Ravi’s 30th film in his career. Besides Jayam Ravi and Priyanka Mohan, the movie stars Bhumika Chawla, Saranya Ponvannan, Natty, Seetha, Achyuth Kumar, and Rao Ramesh in key roles. Bhumika is set to play Jayam Ravi’s sister in the film.

Produced by Screen Scene Media Entertainment, the film features music composed by the acclaimed Harris Jayaraj. On the technical front, Vivekanand Santhosam is handling the cinematography, while Ashish Joseph serves as the editor.

Zee5 has acquired the streaming rights of the film.
