Brahmastra gives Bollywood the biggest Monday of the year; Ranbir, Alia's film to cross Rs. 200 crores mark soon?
After a spectacular weekend, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s passion project Brahmastra sees a glowing collection on Monday.
Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra was one of the most awaited films of the year. Fans had very high expectations from the project, which marks Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt ’s first film together. Plus they had Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo as their very own Brahmastra, which all of us were eagerly looking forward to. But right before release, the film fell prey to the boycott trend on social media. Despite the negativity, the team did not lose hope. So you can imagine their happiness when the film saw a successful opening day.
Brahmastra went on to surprise all boycotters by scoring the biggest weekend of all time for a Hindi film with a glowing collection of Rs 125 crore. Well, according to trade analyst Sumit Kadel, Ranbir and Alia’s film has now passed the Monday test as well. He took to his official Twitter handle to share Brahmastra’s collection on the first week day after release. The tweet read: “#Brahmastra Comfortably passed Monday Litmus Test- Clocks ₹ 15-17 cr nett in all languages on its day 4 which’ll take its total to ₹ 140-142 cr nett.”
In many ways, Ranbir has redeemed himself with Brahmastra. His last release Shamshera, which marked his comeback to the silver screen after four long years, ended up being a bomb at the box office. It was a big disappointment for the actor’s fans, who were desperately waiting to see him shine again in theatres. Well, now audiences are looking forward to Brahmastra 2, which would mark the second part in this trilogy. If buzz is to be believed, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will be taking the story forward.
