Bougainvillea OTT release date: Here’s when and where to stream Jyothirmayi, Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban’s thriller film
After an average run at the box office, Amal Neerad directorial Bougainvillea is set to make its digital debut very soon. The film starred Jyothirmayi, Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban.

After more than a month since its theatrical release, Amal Neerad’s latest mystery thriller Bougainvillea is scheduled to hit a streaming platform soon. SonyLIV, which has purchased the post-theatrical rights to the film, has now officially announced that the latest Malayalam mystery thriller starring Jyothirmayi, Fahadh Faasil, and Kunchacko Boban will be available on SonyLIV starting from December 13, 2024. The film will be available for streaming in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
Sharing the update, the streaming platform wrote, “Every petal tells a story, every twist leaves you guessing. #Bougainvillea blooms this 13th December only on #SonyLIV.”
Bougainvillea opened to mixed reception from audiences, who, although highly excited about Jyothirmayi’s return to Malayalam cinema, had varied opinions about the film.

The film, led by Jyothirmayi, Fahadh Faasil, and Kunchacko Boban, opened to mixed reviews. While audiences expected a mind-blowing mystery thriller, many were disappointed by its predictable twists. However, the stellar performances of the lead characters, especially Jyothirmayi, were widely praised. Viewers were thrilled to see the talented actress return after a hiatus of 11 years.
About Bougainvillea
Inspired by Lajo Jose's novel Ruthinte Lokam, the film revolves around a family becoming embroiled in an investigation surrounding the disappearance of tourists. Starring Kunchacko Boban, Jyothirmayi, and Fahadh Faasil, Bougainvillea also features Sharaf U Dheen, Veena Nandakumar, and Srinda in key roles.
On the technical side, cinematography is handled by Anend C. Chandran, while editing is done by Vivek Harshan. The film is produced under the banners of Amal Neerad Productions and Udhaya Pictures.
