Bougainvillea: Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi to play these roles in Amal Neerad’s crime thriller

Ahead of the much-anticipated release of filmmaker Amal Neerad’s exciting thriller Bougainvillea, the director unveiled the character posters of the leading stars from the film. Amal Neerad returns to his signature thriller genre, marking his first collaboration with Kunchacko Boban.

Kunchacko Boban as Royce Thomas

Starting with the leading man, Kunchacko Boban, the director introduced the actor as Royce Thomas, who is seen wearing round-framed glasses and giving an intense gaze. Kunchacko Boban plays the lead role in the film and plays the husband of actress Jyothirmayi’s character.

Fahadh Faasil as David Koshy

Introducing the versatile actor Fahadh Faasil as David Koshy, Amal Neerad revealed Fahadh’s character, who looks terrific in his new role. Although Fahadh is said to make an extended cameo appearance in the film, it remains to be seen whether he will be playing the villain of the story.

Jyothirmayi as Reethu

Sharing a melancholic poster of actress Jyothirmayi, filmmaker Amal Neerad introduced her as Reethu. The Malayalam actress is making a highly anticipated comeback to Mollywood after a long hiatus of 11 years, her last appearance being in the 2013 film Urava. Sporting cat-shaped spectacles and a short silver hairstyle, Jyothirmayi’s character has piqued the audience’s interest, especially after her performance in the film’s first single Sthuthi.

Although fans have been eagerly asking the director for a trailer update, the makers have yet to announce any updates regarding its release.

Bougainvillea cast and crew

Starring Kunchacko Boban, Jyothirmayi, and Fahadh Faasil, Bougainvillea will also feature Sharaf U Dheen, Veena Nandakumar, and Srinda in key roles. On the technical side, cinematography is handled by Anend C Chandran, while editing is done by Vivek Harshan. The film is produced under the banners of Amal Neerad Productions and Udhaya Pictures.

Bougainvillea is scheduled for release on October 17, 2024.

Earlier, the film was scheduled to clash with Rajinikanth-starrer Vettaiyan on October 10, but the makers postponed the movie to opt for a solo release. Interestingly, both films have Fahadh playing key roles.
