Bottle Radha teaser: Guru Somasundaram shines as a chronic drunkard | Watch his hilarious antics

The official teaser for Tamil actor Guru Somasundaram's upcoming film, Bottle Radha, is here! The makers of the film took to their social media handles to reveal the teaser of the upcoming drama. For the unversed, the movie is directed by debutant Dhinakaran Sivalingam, who previously worked as an assistant to Pa Ranjith on films such as Kabali and Kaala. The film stars actress Sanchana Natarajan as the female lead.

The new teaser opens with a quirky song featuring the lyrics, "Am I a drunkard? Let me go, I will exit." The teaser showcases Guru Somasundaram as a drunkard who has no self-control. Throughout the teaser, he is seen spending his hard-earned money on alcohol, much to the frustration of his family and those around him. He is scolded by police officers and rehab center counselors who question his excessive drinking. In response, he explains that he drinks to cope with his concerns about his way of life. Guru's character is introduced as Sorakkapalayam Radha, while actress Sanchana plays his wife. Overall, the fun antics of Guru's character are entertaining to watch, and we eagerly await the film's release to see how the story unfolds on the big screen.

Bottle Radha plot

Directed by debutant Dhinakaran Sivalingam, the upcoming film is billed as a comedy-drama. According to earlier reports, Guru Somasundaram plays an alcoholic who is sent to rehab by his wife. However, he is unable to cope with the new rules, driving him to make a desperate escape plan. The story revolves around how Radha battles his addiction and delves into his resilience and the challenging road he walks in hopes of a better life. The movie was earlier screened at the 12th edition of the Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) in 2023.

 Besides the lead cast, the film also features John Vijay, ‘Merku Thodarchi Malai’ Antony, and Lollu Sabha Maaran in supporting roles. On the technical front, the film features cinematography by Roopesh Shaji, editing by Sanga Tamizhan, and an original background score and soundtrack by Sean Roland. The screenplay for the film is penned by debutant Dhinakaran Sivalingam himself. The makers are yet to announce the film's release date. 

The film is jointly produced by Pa. Ranjith and T.N. Arun Balaji through Neelam Productions and Balloon Pictures. The movie is shot simultaneously in Tamil and Malayalam, marking Pa Ranjith’s maiden Malayalam cinema venture.
