    Director Pa Ranjith is all set to venture into Malayalam cinema. The director-turned-producer has announced his next production venture. Titled Bottle Radha, Pa Ranjith took to his social media handles to unveil the first-look poster of the film. Starring Minnal Murali star Guru Somasundaram and actress Sanchana Natarajan in leading roles, the upcoming is set to be a bilingual drama, shot simultaneously in Tamil and Malayalam.

    The first-look poster shared by the makers reveals Guru Somasundaram, who plays the protagonist, sitting in a throne, which is inside an alcohol bottle. The intriguing poster has piqued the interest of the netizens who cannot wait to witness the versatile actor play yet another captivating role for his next.  

    According to reports, the actor plays the titular role of Radha, an alcoholic who was sent to rehab by his wife. However, his world falls apart, driving him to make a desperate escape plan. He later returns to his old habits, but faces loneliness. With no other option, he reluctantly returns to rehab, beginning a journey toward recovery. As Radha battles his addiction, the story delves into his resilience and the challenging road he walks in hopes of a better life and reconciling with his family.

    Earlier the movie was doing rounds at film festival circuits such as the 12th edition of the Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) in 2023.

    The movie is directed by debutant Dhinakaran Sivalingam, who has previously worked as an assistant to Pa Ranjith in his earlier films such as Kabali and Kaala. Apart from Guru Somasundaram and Sanchana Natarajan, the movie also stars John Vijay, ‘Merku Thodarchi Malai’ Antony and Lollu Sabha Maaran among others. On the technical front, the film features cinematography by Roopesh Shaji, editing by Sanga Tamizhan, original background score and soundtrack scored by Sean Roland. The screenplay for the film is penned by the debutant Dhinakaran Sivalingam himself. The film is bankrolled jointly by Pa. Ranjith and T.N. Arun Balaji Neelam Productions and Balloon Pictures. More details about the film’s release date and glimpses are expected to be released soon.
