Sharing the new announcement on social media, the makers wrote, “Time’s up! BLACK is set to release in theatres on October 11. Get ready to witness a thrilling journey…”
Black marks the maiden collaboration between Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar, who will play a married couple in the film. Interestingly, Priya Bhavani Shankar's last film Demonte Colony 2 was also a horror thriller.
What is Black all about?
The trailer for Black introduces Jiiva's character and his wife, played by Priya Bhavani Shankar, as they move to a newly built gated community. Soon after settling in, they begin experiencing eerie paranormal events and suspect they are being trapped. The trailer teases their attempts to escape the isolated community and promises a suspenseful story that goes beyond typical horror, even though it unfolds over a single night.
According to director Balasubramani, the title “Black” could symbolize the darkness surrounding us. In a different context, he mentioned that Black can also refer to the concealed parts of our personalities, which make it challenging for others to understand us. He further explained that the film revolves around this theme, presented through thrilling and fast-paced moments. Additionally, he noted that the story focuses on the events impacting a couple over the course of one night.
On the technical front, the film features an original background score and soundtracks composed by Sam CS, with Philomin Raj handling the editing and Gokul Benoy as the cinematographer.
