Bheed Trailer: Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza showcase darkest times nation faced during pandemic

With films like Mulk, Article 15, and Thappad, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha has created a niche for himself in mainstream cinema with stories inspired by real-life events. This time, the director has taken up the darkest times of the coronavirus pandemic in India as a subject in his upcoming movie, Bheed. He roped in a talented ensemble cast including Rajkummar Rao , Bhumi Pednekar , Pankaj Kapur, Ashutosh Rana, Dia Mirza , and Kritika Kamra to showcase the struggle of every stratum of society during the pandemic.
After piquing the interest of cine-goers with the Bheed teaser, the makers have now dropped its trailer on Friday. The video starts with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s voice announcing the lockdown in the country. And the crowd of people is seen gathering on the street, some being beaten up by police and some trying to migrate to their hometown. Rajkummar makes an entry on a bike wearing a police uniform. He could be seen helping out people during the lockdown with food and other essentials. Dia Mirza makes a brief appearance wherein she could be seen talking over the phone about the state borders being shut down. Pankaj Kapur plays a common man struggling with fulfilling basic necessities for his community. Kritika Kamra is introduced as a journalist reporting from the ground about the migrants.
Further, Rajkummar stands for law amid the discrimination of caste and creed in one of the scenes. Ashutosh Rana plays his senior who objects to his decision of rising up as a hero in the tough times towards the end of the trailer. Sharing the trailer on Instagram. Rajkummar wrote, “In the darkest times faced by the nation, one man will dare to make a difference.” Soon after his fans flooded the comment section with praises and compliments. Backed by Anubhav Sinha’s production house, Benaras Media Works and Bhushan Kumar’s T-series, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on March 24, 2023.
