Beverly Hills Cop star Eddie Murphy dons Axel Foley's iconic jacket in these BTS pics from the reboot

The fourth installment titled Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley is a Netflix exclusive and will serve as a soft reboot of the franchise.

The Beverly Hills cop franchise kicked off in 1984 and was a huge hit. It was followed by a mostly well-received sequel in 1987 and the not-so well-received Beverly Hills Cop 3 in 1994.

The three movies combined have grossed over 700 million dollars worldwide, Eddie Murphy who has made a comeback with the 2019 Netflix biopic Dolemite Is My Name is also producing the movie.

The movie is directed by Mark Molloy and Will Beall who have worked on the screenplay of Aquaman and the Gangster squad had written the screenplay.

The plot of the movie remains under wraps but we do know that Murphy will be joined by new cast members Taylor Paige and Joseph Gordon-Levitt and old cast members Paul Reiser and John Ashton who will be returning to the franchise after a gap of 35 years.

The movie is currently under production in San Bernardino, California.
