Here's everything you need to know about the new LCU film Benz, featuring Raghava Lawrence. The story is penned by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Benz Teaser
The Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) expands! Welcoming Raghava Lawrence to filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s anti-drug film franchise, the director officially introduced the Tamil actor for his upcoming film Benz, which will now be part of the LCU. Sharing a special video on Raghava Lawrence’s birthday, the filmmaker wrote, “A warrior with a cause is the most dangerous soldier. Welcome to the universe @offl_Lawrence Master. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday.” The earlier LCU films including Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo dealt with the drug mafia.
The new teaser features Lokesh Kanagaraj discussing the addition of a "new soldier" to combat the drug cartel as Raghava Lawrence is introduced. This exhilarating glimpse has won fans over, with many eagerly anticipating how the Tamil actor will contribute to the film franchise. The story of Benz is penned by Lokesh Kanagaraj, but instead of directing, he has handed over the task of helming the film to Bakkiyaraj Kannan of Remo fame.
Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan and produced under Lokesh Kanagaraj’s production banner, G Squad, along with Passion Studios and The Route production houses, the makers had earlier revealed the title poster while keeping other major details about the film under wraps.
Benz speculated cast
Recent reports also revealed that the makers of Benz have brought on board Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil and Tamil actor SJ Suryah, with both actors expected to play antagonistic roles in the action thriller. Since Fahadh is already part of the LCU franchise, fans speculate that these casting rumors might be accurate. However, SJ Suryah’s involvement is yet to be officially confirmed. If the rumors are true, Benz would mark Raghava Lawrence’s reunion with SJ Suryah after their hit collaboration in Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda DoubleX and would also be Fahadh Faasil’s first collaboration with Raghava Lawrence.
Raghava Lawrence’s lineup of films
The Jigarthanda DoubleX star has several exciting projects lined up. Two of his upcoming films were announced on his birthday—Bullet, marking the debut of his brother Elviin, and his new pan-Indian project Kaala Bhairava. Besides these, the actor is set to reprise his role in the fourth installment of his hit horror film series, Kanchana 4, which is currently in development. Additionally, Raghava Lawrence will appear in Venkat Mohan’s upcoming film Hunter.
