Bawaal first reactions: Maniesh Paul lauds Varun-Janhvi’s nuanced performances; Elli AvrRam & others review the film

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming film Bawaal is taking the digital route. It will officially premiere on streaming giant Amazon Prime Video this Friday. But ahead of the big release, makers have held three special screenings so far– two for audiences and one for Bollywood stars, which took place last night. Unlike their characters Ajay and Nisha, Varun and Janhvi went all out glam on the blue carpet. While Varun was dapper in his black tux, handsome as ever, his co-star Janhvi walked in looking like a shiny mermaid in her bodycon gown.

For those who are confused whether Bawaal is worth a watch or not, don’t worry. We have something which will help you. Much to our delight, many celebs reviewed Varun and Janhvi’s film after watching it last night. For instance, Maniesh Paul shared, “Loved this film! @varundvn what a brilliant performance @janhvikapoor you had my heart! @niteshtiwari22 captain of the ship in full form. Congrats.” Actress Elli AvrRam, on the other hand, wrote: “This film was lovely!!! Loved how it tapped important issues that can be seen in our society, but we hardly speak about or acknowledge, even as an individual we get stuck in a bubble.”

Elli went on to add, “The funny moments were hilarious!🫶 And yes there's so much to learn from history....” Without sharing any spoilers, the actress left us intrigued with her review. Fukrey fame Varun Sharma also lauded Janhvi and Varun’s nuanced performances whereas Murad Khetani called it an ‘emotional ride’, where even the scenes that made him laugh left him teary eyed. Well, these initial reactions suggest that Varun and Janhvi’s Bawaal is definitely a must watch.

Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the romantic drama follows the story of a history teacher who takes his bride to Europe for a honeymoon. There, they cross hurdles of their troubled relationship.
