Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars won't be directed by The Russo Brothers says Kevin Feige

This year at San Diego Comic-Con Marvel Studio made two major announcements Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars .

Both Movies are set to release in 2025 and while we don't know who will be helming the projects, Kevin Feige has made it clear that it won't be The Russo Brothers.

In the past, the Russos have talked on several occasions about Secret Wars as their dream project.

But during an interview with Deadline, the Marvel Studios President appeared to confirm they won't be returning to the MCU quite yet.

"They’re not connected to it," Feige reveals in the video below. "They’ve been very direct about that. We love them, they love us. We want to find something to do together, it’s not this."

There are reports saying that while Marvel did approach the Russo's to direct the project, they were unable to take on the project because of their busy schedules.

When asked to specify how the next phase of the MCU will be different from the past, Feige gave a short answer and did not give away much.

"The truth is, all of our stories are both interconnected and hopefully stand apart. It’s only now even that we see what the thematics of one, two, and three are. We have various ideas as we head into them. But the specifics we like to be uncovered project by project."

The Kang Dynasty is based on the comic series created by Kurt Busiek and follows Kang The Conqueror, a warlord from the 30th century, who arrives in the 21st century to conquer Earth,

A Variant of Kang was introduced in the first season of Loki and was played by Jonathan Majors.

Secret Wars is based on the comic series written by Jonathan Hickman and follows the events that happen after two universes collide with each other.

which destroys both. Pieces of the two universes are mysteriously saved and combined with other post-collision universes, creating the "Battleworld."

It will be interesting to see how Marvel adapts this two very popular comic storylines on the big screen, for now fans will have to wait a while know more about the projects.
