Arjun Das and Ashok Selvan express their excitement over dubbing for Mufasa: The Lion King | Tamil trailer OUT

Ahead of the much-awaited release of Mufasa: The Lion King, Disney Studios has unveiled the Tamil-dubbed trailer of the film. The Tamil voice cast features notable talents such as Arjun Das as Mufasa, Ashok Selvan as Taka, Nasser as Kiros, VTV Ganesh as Rafiki, Robo Shankar as Pumbaa, and Singam Puli as Timon.

Ashok Selvan and Arjun Das, who shared the new trailer on their social media pages, expressed their excitement about being part of this iconic film. Sharing his anticipation, Ashok Selvan wrote, "Thrilled to lend my voice to Taka/Scar in Tamil! 🦁 Growing up, The Lion King was my favorite childhood film, so being part of this legacy feels truly special. I'm also happy to team up with the talented @iam_arjundas and team! Don’t miss Mufasa roaring into theaters this December 20th! 🎥 @DisneyStudiosIN."

Arjun Das, who is lending his voice to the leading hero Mufasa’s character, wrote, "Hakuna ̶M̶a̶t̶a̶t̶a̶ … Mufasa it is! 🦁 The new roar! 🎵 One month from now, get ready to watch Mufasa: The Lion King in cinemas from December 20th."

In Telugu, superstar Mahesh Babu has lent his voice for Mufasa. Meanwhile, in Hindi, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will voice Mufasa, with his sons Aryan Khan and AbRam voicing Simba and young Mufasa, respectively.

Arjun Das, who is voicing Mufasa, couldn’t contain his joy over dubbing for one of the most iconic kings in cinematic history. He described the opportunity to explore Mufasa’s journey and be part of Disney’s renowned storytelling as a truly unforgettable experience.

He said, "As a little kid, I remember watching The Lion King, never imagining that years later I would be the voice of Mufasa in Tamil. I’ve always wanted to learn more about how Mufasa became one of the greatest kings in cinematic history."

Ashok Selvan, on the other hand, expressed his excitement about voicing the royal lion Taka. He shared that The Lion King has been a beloved part of childhood for generations. Mufasa: The Lion King is set to premiere worldwide on December 20, 2024.
