Composer Anirudh Ravichander on Wednesday unveiled a glimpse of the second song from the music album of Vettaiyan, starring Superstar Rajinikanth. The song, titled Hunter Vantaar, packs a rhythmic beat that has become the trademark of Anirudh's style.
In spirit, Hunter Vantaar seems like a companion piece to Hukum, which pays a thumping ode to Rajinikanth's sprawling legacy. Similarly, the lyrics of Hunter Vantaar focus on Rajinikanth's on- and off-screen supremacy in the Indian film industry. The chorus begins with "Hey, the Superstar-da....," highlighting Rajinikanth's on-screen magnetism, and how even his critics can’t help but enjoy his performance.
The song is sung by Siddharth Basrur, with rapper Therukural Arivu penning the lyrics. Besides composing the song, Anirudh has also lent his vocals to the track. The full song will be unveiled on Friday.
From the glimpse, it’s clear that Hunter Vantaar has all the right ingredients to become another fan favourite. Anirudh's songs and background score play a significant role in shaping audience expectations for upcoming movies, and Vettaiyan is no exception.
Soon after Anirudh released Vettaiyan's first song, Manasilaayo, it essentially broke the internet. The song, released during Onam celebrations, went viral, sparking countless reel videos across platforms. It even inspired Rajinikanth to recreate the song's hook steps on the sets of Coolie, adding to its viral success.
The success of Manasilaayo has completely shifted the vibe around Vettaiyan, creating massive momentum ahead of its worldwide release next month. Written and directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film boasts an all-star supporting cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier.
Vettaiyan is due in cinemas on October 10.
