Composer Anirudh Ravichander, a self-proclaimed die-hard fan of Superstar Rajinikanth, rushed to a Chennai theatre to catch the first show of Vettaiyan, for which he scored the music, on Thursday. Known for crafting blockbuster anthems that resonate with Rajinikanth’s fans, Anirudh’s presence added to the excitement surrounding the film’s release.

Speaking to the media before the show, Anirudh shared his enthusiasm for the project and responded to the early reviews. "I am very happy and excited. After Jailer, I scored again for Vettaiyan. Hopefully, people will enjoy it," he said with a smile.

Anirudh’s contributions to Jailer last year played a crucial role in elevating the film to a mega-hit status, thanks in large part to his impactful background score and memorable songs. Similarly, Vettaiyan is expected to benefit from his musical prowess, enhancing the narrative and emotional depth of the film.

Anirudh also touched on the growing pressure he faces regarding his tweets ahead of his film releases. It has become a tradition for him to tweet his feelings after completing a film’s score, often using emojis. Fans and media have started treating these posts as a 'first review,' setting the tone and generating anticipation for the movie’s release.

"It’s kinda become a pressure that if I tweet about a movie, it should become a hit. I have already tweeted. Kuri vecha... erra vizhanum (if you aim, the prey must fall)," Anirudh joked, borrowing Rajinikanth’s punchline from Vettaiyan.

Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, revolves around a top cop who resorts to extrajudicial killings to deliver swift justice. The film features an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan. Despite high expectations, the film has opened to mixed reviews from critics.
