    Prashanth's Andhagan X review

Many users took to social media to heap praise on Prashanth for making a strong comeback to Kollywood after a long hiatus. Netizens hailed the actor’s performance and even called the film one of the best remakes in Kollywood in a long time. “#Andhagan After A Long Wait, A Worthy Tamil Remake Arrives... Thiagarajan Perfect Casting Choices & SaNa's Captivating Background Score. Make It A Compelling Watch. Prashanth & Simran Deliver Good Performances, With An Engaging First Half & A Decent Second Half. Overall, A Satisfying Experience. (3.5-3.75/5),” one user rated the film.

Praising lead actors Simran and Prashanth for their engaging performances, many users were impressed by their portrayal of characters with negative shades. One user wrote, “#Andhagan has been watched. With such strong source material, director Thiagarajan designs a remake that is faithful to the original and shines brighter with its intelligent casting choices. @actorprashanth has a winner on his hands, and @SimranbaggaOffc is great.” They also praised director Thiagarajan, who has made an impressive comeback after a 13-year hiatus.

Many users were surprised by Simran’s gripping performance, calling her role in Andhagan one of the best of her career so far.

Prashanth: Andhagan is 'remade’, not a remake

Earlier, actor Prashanth stated that Andhagan is "remade, not a remake." His statement puzzled netizens, who pointed out that “remade” is simply the past participle form of "remake." However, Prashanth was actually trying to explain that the Tamil film is not entirely a copy of the Hindi blockbuster and that the makers have brought their own interpretations to the story. Andhadhun, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu, was earlier remade in Telugu as Maestro (2021) and in Malayalam as Bhramam (2021), but these remakes failed to achieve the success of the original film.

Besides Prashanth and Simran, Andhagan also stars Priya Anand, Karthik, Samuthirakani, Urvashi, Yogi Babu, K. S. Ravikumar, Vanitha Vijayakumar, and Manobala in key roles.
