Amitabh Bachchan felicitates Chiranjeevi with ANR National Award 2024 | WATCH

The much-awaited ANR National Award 2024 event was held on October 28, 2024, in Hyderabad. Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi has been honored with the ANR National Award 2024, which was presented by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

Amitabh Bachchan gives ANR National Award to Chiranjeevi

As Chiranjeevi received the award from the veteran star, he respectfully touched Amitabh Bachchan's feet to seek his blessings. The event commemorates the 100th birth anniversary of Telugu cinema legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), and this year's National Award has been given to Chiranjeevi for his remarkable contributions to Telugu cinema. ANR's son and actor Nagarjuna was also present at the dias along with Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan. Watch the clip here:

While addressing the crowd at the event, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his pride in being part of the Telugu film industry. The actor, who made his significant Telugu debut in the Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD earlier this year, stated, "I am now proud to say that I am part of the Telugu film industry," as the crowd cheered for the veteran icon.

Amitabh Bachchan was previously honored with the ANR Award in 2014.

Established in 2005 by the Akkineni International Foundation, the ANR Award recognizes outstanding contributions to Indian cinema. Over the years, it has been awarded to many esteemed figures, such as Dev Anand, Lata Mangeshkar, Sridevi, Hema Malini, Rekha, Shabana Azmi, and K. Balachander.

Celebrities grace the ANR Awards

Several celebrities attended the special event in style. Notable attendees included Ram Charan and newly engaged couple Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala, as well as many other Telugu film personalities, who gathered to witness Chiranjeevi being honored.

Chiranjeevi's son, actor Ram Charan, arrived at the function in a black suit, sporting a thick beard and looking dapper as usual. He was seen greeting other actors at the ceremony and also embraced Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Naga Chaitanya, who was playing the gracious host to all the guests, was seen alongside his fiancée, actress Sobhita Dhulipala. The new couple appeared together at the award ceremony. Telugu star Nani looked suave in a deep green shirt at the award ceremony.

Other celebrities who attended the event included director Trivikram, Venkatesh Daggubati, Academy Award-winner MM Keeravaani, and other prominent artists from the industry.
