    Scheduled for a grand worldwide Diwali release, Sivakarthikeyan’s first army film, Amaran, is set to hit the big screens on October 31, 2024. During this Diwali season, the Tamil film will compete with several major releases, including Lucky Bhaskar, Brother, Bloody Beggar, Mechanic Rocky, and Bagheera, for box office success.

    The heartwarming trailer begins with an old clip of Major Mukund singing the iconic Tamil patriotic song "Acham Illai Acham Illai" by poet Bharathiyar alongside his daughter. It then transitions to Sivakarthikeyan portraying Major Mukund, recreating that heartfelt moment as the trailer delves into Mukund's life before his tragic end. It highlights touching scenes from his love story with his Malayali wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, the opposition he faced from his parents over his military career, and his courageous battles against terrorists.     Amaran is based on the non-fiction book India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes, which details the real-life challenges faced by Indian soldiers during the 2016 surgical strikes. Sivakarthikeyan plays the role of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a commissioned officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment who was martyred during the Qazipathri Operation in Shopian in 2014. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his actions. Sai Pallavi portrays Mukund's wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, in the film.
