Amaran’s theatrical success
Upon its initial theatrical release, Amaran opened to positive responses from audiences, who were in awe of the stellar performances delivered by lead actors Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. This overwhelming reception led to the film securing the second spot among the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year, while also placing eighth among the highest-grossing Indian films of 2024.
Following its success, the Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association urged delaying the film's digital release by eight weeks to maximize its theatrical run. They emphasized that extending the theatrical window would benefit both the film and the industry.
Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, revolves around the courageous legacy of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was martyred in Shopian in 2014. Sai Pallavi portrayed the role of Major Mukund’s wife, Indu Rebecca Varghese.
