    Ahead of Amaran’s Diwali release, the makers of Sivakarthikeyan’s first-ever biopic took to their social media handles to share a behind-the-scenes (BTS) glimpse of the film. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film is scheduled to hit the big screens on October 31, 2024. The movie stars Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi and is based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, an Indian Army officer who was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra. The new BTS footage showcases shots from Kashmir, where war sequences are being filmed.

    Sivakarthikeyan, who plays the lead role of Major Mukund Varadarajan, is seen performing intense scenes. The glimpse also takes us through bomb blast sequences from the areas susceptible to terror activities, where Indian army personnel can be seen participating in rescue operations. Overall, the surprise glimpse dropped by the makers has generated a lot of excitement among fans, who are eager to witness the courageous story of the late soldier this Diwali season.

    Kamal Haasan to make a cameo in Amaran

    Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, Amaran is a military action film backed by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. Due to the veteran star’s involvement as a producer, there are rumours that Kamal Haasan will make a cameo appearance in the film. However, a confirmation regarding this is still awaited. Besides Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose and Lallu also have key roles in the film.

    Amaran is reportedly inspired by the non-fiction book India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes, which details the real-life challenges faced by Indian soldiers during the 2016 surgical strikes. Sivakarthikeyan plays the role of Major Mukund Varadarajan in the biopic, a commissioned officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment who was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his operations.

    On the technical front, the music for the film is scored by GV Prakash Kumar, the cinematography is handled by Ch Sai, and R Kalaivanan serves as the editor. 

    Netflix has acquired the streaming rights for the film, and it will be available on the OTT platform after its theatrical run.
