Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan is experiencing the best phase of his career, with his latest movie, Amaran, enjoying a terrific run at the box office. The film debuted at the Tamil Nadu box office by grossing over Rs 16 crore, making it the third-biggest opener in the state after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All Time and Superstar Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan.

Amaran maintained its strong momentum on day two, with earnings estimated at over Rs 15 crore. With a two-day total gross of Rs 30 crore, this film is on track to give Sivakarthikeyan his career-best opening weekend. Early estimates suggest the profit share for stakeholders could reach around Rs 40 crore from the opening weekend earnings in Tamil Nadu alone.

Starring Sai Pallavi as the female lead, Amaran made a remarkable debut at the global box office, grossing over Rs 42 crore—making it the biggest opening of Sivakarthikeyan's career. Amaran was anticipated to redefine Sivakarthikeyan’s on-screen image and elevate his career in Tamil cinema, and it has delivered on that promise.

The film’s appeal extends beyond Tamil Nadu, as Amaran has emerged as a top choice for audiences in the Telugu states, Karnataka, and Kerala. In the Telugu states, it took in an impressive Rs 4 crore and continues to maintain a strong trend despite facing competition from Dulquer Salmaan’s Lucky Baskhar, KA, and Bollywood films Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

In Karnataka, Amaran is one of the fastest-filling shows in the Bengaluru region, earning over Rs 1 crore on two consecutive days at the state’s box office.

With its record-breaking trajectory, Amaran is set to continue its box office success in Tamil Nadu and beyond. The film’s earnings in Tamil Nadu could have been even higher, if not for the simultaneous release of other Tamil films, including Jayam Ravi’s Brother and Kavin’s Bloody Beggar.
