Filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar attended the pre-release event of Pushpa 2: The Rule in Chennai and took the opportunity to express his admiration for Telugu superstar Allu Arjun. He shared how Pushpa: The Rise exceeded his expectations and gave him a memorable theatrical experience.

"I don’t usually follow Telugu movies. I watched Pushpa 1 without any preconceived notions. But that film connected with me so much. When I analyzed it, I found all the good elements, including Allu Arjun sir’s performance," Nelson said.

Recalling his first impression of the film, he added, "It was a very refreshing experience. Watching Allu Arjun’s performance felt like witnessing the rise of a new star."

Nelson lauded Allu Arjun’s dedication, particularly his decision to focus solely on Pushpa 2 despite the phenomenal success of its predecessor. "I always wondered how someone could not take up other projects after delivering such a big hit. But I understood that Allu Arjun is very passionate about movies. That dedication and hard work are why Pushpa 2 is one of the most anticipated movies, not just in Telugu states but across India," he said.

Using his trademark humour, Nelson addressed the long delays in the movie’s release. "I was asking Allu Arjun, 'Sir, I am excited to watch the movie on December 5. You won’t later say that you have a shooting on December 6, right?' But this time, the film will release in a bigger and better way," he quipped.

Nelson also praised the Pushpa franchise for setting a benchmark in mounting regional films on a national scale. "Movies like Pushpa inspire us and show how we can elevate a regional movie to such a grand level. I think Pushpa 2 may reshape mainstream commercial cinema in India. I can’t wait to watch the movie," he added.

The director also revealed his desire to collaborate with Allu Arjun on a Tamil project. "I didn’t know he spoke such good Tamil," Nelson said, adding that he’s only waiting for the actor’s approval to make it happen.
