Alia Bhatt in Jigra
Alia Bhatt will be starring in the movie Jigra which is backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. She will also be producing the movie under her production banner Eternal Sunshine Productions. The movie will be helmed by Vasan Bala.
Talking about the introductory teaser, we see a quote being flashed on the screen by GK Chesterton which says, ‘The paradox of courage is that one must be a little careless of life in order to keep it.’ We then see a silhouette of Alia Bhatt wearing a shirt and pants while sporting a simple ponytail and carrying a backpack. She can be seen sporting an intense expression on her face as she looks down. We hear her voiceover which her character is telling to her sibling. She says, “Look at me. You wear my Rakhi right? I will not let anything happen to you.” Take a look at the same.
However, as Karan Johar shared the teaser, many netizens started trolling him for producing yet another movie for Alia Bhatt under his banner. One of the netizens stated, “Alia Bhatt ka personal marketing manager.” While another user added, “Please try with atleast someone else...like Kriti or Deepika! They are good too! Alia x Dharma is Just getting very repetitive.” A netizen went on to say, “Just promote nepotism.... jab dekho aliaaa Bhatt dosre bhi hai deserving.” A user went on to say, “Please just for a year, don't use alia for your production.” A netizen accused Karan of stalling Sidharth Malhotra’s Yodha for Jigra. The comment said, “Just imagine stalling yodha to save his beti career.. @karanjohar you suck.” Another user said, “He is single handedly maligning image of Alia. He thinks her like his pet who he wants to show to world.”
Meanwhile, Jigra will be released on September 27, 2024. Alia Bhatt was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani which was directed by Karan Johar. She also has the ambitious YRF female-led spy universe in the pipeline.
