It is not a hidden fact that Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 is on a path-breaking ride when it comes to its humongous box office numbers. However, that is surprisingly not resulting in bad news for Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2. Due to its gritty and sensitive subject and realistic performances, the movie is managing to sail strong despite competing with a blockbuster film at the cash register.

OMG 2 saw an incredible collection at the Independence Day weekend. However, the movie saw a slight dip on Wednesday (August 16) and earned approximately Rs 7.75 crore according to Sacnilk. The total collection of the movie now stands at Rs 80 crore. If the film manages to quicken its pace again, it might fast cross the Rs 100 crore mark this weekend. But despite locking horns with a blockbuster hit like Gadar 2, the Pankaj Tripathi starrer is surprisingly going strong and showing no signs of slowing down. The positive word of mouth and the hard-hitting subject of the importance of sex education in today’s youth seems to be the contributing factor to the movie’s steady success. It is expected to recover its budget of Rs 150 crore if the collections move upward in the coming days.

Akshay Kumar in his latest post had the most beautiful gesture towards Gadar 2. He shared a scene from OMG 2 wherein his character sings the song ‘Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava’ from Gadar giving a shoutout to both the movie’s success. The actor wrote, “A big thank you to our audiences for all the love for #OhMyGadar and giving us the greatest week in the Indian Film History.”

Talking about Gadar 2, the movie continued to rake a storm at the box office. The film earned Rs 34.50 crore on Wednesday wherein its total collections stands at Rs 263.48 crore. Well, this needless to say, Gadar 2 and OMG 2 have done a stupendous job of bringing the audience back to the theatres.
