Akshay Kumar reveals why he said yes to Bachchhan Paandey; believes ‘budget hit toh film hit’
Akshay Kumar will be seen in and as Bachchhan Paandey in Farhad Samji’s upcoming action comedy. Also starring Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi and Jacqueline Fernandez, the film will arrive in theatres on 18th March.
Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar is one of the only few actors who has been on an absolute roll ever since the COVID-19 lockdown lifted. While his spy thriller Bell Bottom became the first Bollywood movie to start shooting amid the COVID-19 pandemic, his cop drama Sooryavanshi emerged as a winner at the box office. He even ruled OTT with Atrangi Re , which garnered highest opening day viewership on the platform. Well, up next Akshay is all set to return to the silver screen with Bachchhan Paandey , which has been directed by Farhad Samji .
In a chat with Pinkvilla, Akshay revealed the simple reason behind saying yes to the action comedy. He shared, “I liked the role, I did it. I don’t think much.” He was further quoted saying, “I am a strong believer of the phrase ‘Budget Hit Toh Film Hit.’ I have never wasted money and respected everyone’s time. I make it a point to respect my co-actors and crew’s time, so that the time can respect me back.” Akshay stated that there is no formula behind making hit films and explained that he truly believes in luck.
Also starring Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pankaj Tripathi and Prateik Babbar, the action comedy follows the story of an aspiring filmmaker who sets out to make a movie on the life of Bachchhan Paandey, the notorious gangster of Baghwa. The trailer was a treat for fans and Akshay’s menacing look has already become a hit. We can’t wait to watch the superstar on the silver screen on 18th March.
