Akshay Kumar on Prithviraj clash with Kamal Haasan's Vikram & Adivi Sesh's Major: Wrong to think we can’t coexist

Actor Akshay Kumar is all geared up for the release of his upcoming period drama, Prithviraj . The film is set to face a box office clash with Kamal Haasan ’s Vikram and Adivi Sesh starrer Major , which are also releasing on June 3, 2022. However, the actor is unaffected and instead hopes every film does business.
In a recent media interaction, Akshay said it is wrong to think that films can't co-exist, and wished that each film does good business. “Good, I hope everyone’s film works. We can’t stop anybody from releasing their films, right? I hope every film does business because the business is all connected. We can’t exist without the other. It is wrong to think we can’t coexist. I cannot live without them, and they can’t without us. I always say we have to be united but unfortunately what I see is we are not. We always talk about dividing. nobody talks about uniting but hopefully, we will learn,” he said.

While Kamal Haasan’s Vikram is an upcoming Tamil-language action thriller written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film follows the story of a retired police officer, Vikram, who is on a secret assignment. The film also has Vijay Sethupati and Fahad Faasil in prominent roles. On the other hand, Adivi Sesh’s Major is a biographical action drama that depicts the life story of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was killed in the Mumbai terror attacks in 2018. Directed by Sashi Kiran, the film also stars Sai Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj , and Revathi among others. The film will release in Tamil and Hindi language and also be dubbed in Malayalam.
Talking about Akshay’s Prithviraj, the film revolves around the fearless warrior King Prithviraj Chauhan as he faces off against Muhammad of Ghor. Directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film marks the debut of Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar in the film industry. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu worldwide.
Besides Akshay, Adivi also spoke about the clash at Major’s song launch event. He was confident that his film will be a winner at the box office as he said, “I think practically speaking, we have the biggest film in Telugu, Vikram is the biggest film in Tamil and Prithviraj is the biggest film in Hindi but while there are big fish in the sea, we are the goldfish.”
