If this turns out to be true 'Thunivu' could end up taking the box office by storm.

    Still from Thunivu

    Still from Thunivu

While the makers of Ajith 's upcoming heist thriller Thunive have been giving us a steady flow of plot and character details ahead of the movie release, however, the one thing that is a closely guarded secret is Ajith's character name in the movie.

And according to a new report, Ajith will be playing a character called Vinayak Mahadev, the same name as his character from the 2011 superhit movie Mangatha.

The report also states that Thunivu will start off in Bangkok where interestingly enough Ajith's character ended up at the end of Mankatha.

The movie will also have a cameo appearance from Arjun Sarja who played the role of ACP Prithviraj in Mankatha.

Ajith's Mankatha directed by Venkat Prabhu was a massive critical and commercial success with the actor rescuing praise for playing a negative character.

And from the trailer of Thunivu, it is clear that Ajith's character has a lot of gray shades in the movie, so there could be a connection.

If this turns out to be true it is great news for fans as this would open the possibility to set a cinematic universe similar to what director Lokesh Kanakaraj did with Kaithi and Vikram.

Thunivu will be the third collaboration between Aith and the director after 2019s Nerkonda Paarvai and 2022s Valimai.

The movie follows group of mercenaries how are robiing a bank in chennai and are lead by Ajith. Thunivu marks the first on-screen pairing of Ajith and National award-winning Malayalam actress Manju Warrier, this will be her second Tamil movie after 2019s Asuran in which she co-starred with Dhanush.

The full cast of the movie includes Manju Warrier as Kanmani, Samuthirakani as Dayalan, Ajay as Ramachandran, GM Sundar as Muthazhagan, Veera as Radha, John Kokken as Krish, Bhagavathi Perumal as Rajesh, and Prem Kumar as Prem.

The music for the movie is composed by Ghibran and currently, three tracks from the movie "Chilla Chilla" sung by Anirudh Ravichander, Vaisagh, and Ghibran, "Kasethan Kadavulada" sung by Vaisagh, Manju Warrier, Ghibran and "Gangstaa" sung by Shabir, Ghibran have been released online.

Thunive will be releasing worldwide on January 11th.
