Fans of Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar have been eagerly awaiting news about his upcoming film, Vidaamuyarchi, but updates have been scarce. The film’s producers, Lyca Productions, have maintained a low profile, providing little information beyond character posters, leaving fans in the dark about the movie’s release date.
Originally expected to hit cinemas during Diwali, the release of Vidaamuyarchi was delayed, much to the disappointment of Ajith's loyal fan base. However, composer Anirudh Ravichander recently broke the silence, offering a much-needed update. In a recent interview with Amazon Music, Anirudh revealed, “I think Pongal will be Ajith's film, which is Vidaamuyarchi."
The delay in the film's release is attributed to production setbacks after Lyca Productions encountered financial difficulties, temporarily halting progress. Despite this, Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, is now in post-production and slated for a Pongal release. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, and Regina Cassandra.
Anirudh Ravichander, one of India’s most sought-after composers, has been juggling multiple high-profile projects. “As of now, this is already giving me a headache to mention all this," he quipped during the interview. He also revealed that he is working on major films like Coolie, and Shah Rukh Khan's next Hindi film, believed to be King. With around 50 songs to complete within the next 10 months, Anirudh humorously remarked, "Good luck to me."
In recent films, Anirudh's background score has played a key role in elevating the narrative, even enhancing dull scenes and making them a hit with audiences. Anirudh's popularity soared across the country after he delivered a blockbuster music album for Shah Rukh Khan's film Jawan last year, which marked director Atlee's debut in Hindi cinema.
Anirudh's work in the Telugu film Devara also received widespread praise. His most recent score for Vettaiyan was another major success.
