Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 2 overpowers Varun Dhawan's Bhediya at box office, crosses Rs 200-mark globally
So far, Drishyam 2 has amassed Rs 170 crore gross in the domestic market while Rs 33 crore overseas, taking the total collection to a worldwide gross of Rs 203 crore.
Ever since the crime thriller Drishyam 2 was released, it has been shattering records at the box office. After achieving the milestone of Rs 100 crore in just seven days, the film starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu has now crossed Rs 200 crore worldwide. Despite the recent release of the horror-comedy Bhediya, it continues to pull audiences to the theatres, courtesy of strong word of mouth.

As per BoxOfficeIndia, “the way the film is trending it is cruising to the 200 crore nett plus and it looks like a question of how more than 200 crore nett. the Gujarat / Saurashtra belt has run riot on Saturday and Sunday and when theta happens at the box office today there is no stopping the film.” On the other hand, Bhediya(released on November 25) earned Rs 28.55 crore in three days.
With such outstanding performance at the box office, the film has already locked its place in the list of the top 5 highest-grossing Bollywood films of the year. It is just below Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi (211 crores). The trade experts predicted that if the film continues to hold its ground in the coming days, it will be likely to enter the top 3 list soon. For those unaware, Alia-Ranbir’s Brahmastra (431 crores), Anupam Kher’s The Kashmir Files (341 crores) and Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2(266 crores) has been ruling the highest-grossing list.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 2 is the sequel to the 2015 Drishyam, a Hindi remake of the Mohanlal-starrer Malayalam movie of the same name. While Ajay, Shriya Saran, Tabu, and Ishita Dutta reprised their roles, Akshaye Khanna is the new addition to the Drishyam franchise. The film was released on November 19 in the theatres.
