Ajay Devgn-Sidharth Malhotra’s Thank God lags behind Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu at box office
Considering Ram Setu’s relatively better collection on the first day, Thank God needs to put up a better show going ahead.
Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra starrer comedy-drama Thank God was released on 25 October during the Diwali festivities. The film which clashed with Akshay Kumar ’s action-adventure film Ram Setu has just managed to post a decent total at the box office on its opening day. Considering Ram Setu’s relatively better collection on the first day, Thank God needs to put up a better show going ahead.
Thank God is a Hindi-language fantasy social comedy film directed by Indra Kumar. It is said to be an official remake of the Danish film Sorte Kugler. According to the reported trade estimates, Thank God got an opening of nearly Rs 10 crore, which can be said to be a borderline average opener.

Thank God seems to have benefited from the comedy genre and also the ongoing Diwali festivities. However, Ram Setu managed to take the lead on the first day collecting Rs 15 crore, mainly riding on the mass appeal of Akshay Kumar. Thank God needs to get around the Rs 75 to 80 crore mark in the long run in the coming week to be declared as successful, according to experts mentioned in reports.
Meanwhile, Thank God is a comedy movie whose plot revolves around a self-centered and egotistical real estate broker. The man is burdened with huge debt. He meets with a fatal car accident one day. However, his life turns upside down as he gains consciousness. The broker comes to term with the fact that he has landed in heaven. Then, Chitragupta appears in front of him and invites him to play "Game of Life". Chitragupta is a Hindu deity who maintains complete records of the actions of human beings and punishes or rewards them according to their karma.
On the other hand, Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu follows an archeologist who is investigating the nature of Ram Setu, the famous mythological and religious theories revolving around the bridge connecting India and Sri Lanka.
