It appears that the producers of Pushpa 2: The Rule, one of the most-anticipated releases starring Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, have made significant last-minute changes to the crew, with less than a month before the movie’s grand release.

According to industry sources, Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) will not be composing the background score for Pushpa 2. DSP’s songs and background score played a major role in the success of Pushpa: The Rise. His songs found phenomenal success across India, with the folk dance number “Oo Antava Mawa...Oo Oo Antava” sweeping the country and elevating Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s career to new heights. DSP's background score in Pushpa 1 also enhanced the intensity of the action and hero-elevation scenes, enriching the theatrical experience.

However, Sukumar, Allu Arjun, and the producers at Mythri Movie Makers have reportedly brought in not just one but three additional composers to work on the film’s background score. This major shift in the technical team so close to the release date has puzzled fans and industry insiders alike.

Reports indicate that young composers S.S. Thaman, Sam CS, and Ajaneesh Loknath have been hired to handle the movie’s background score, likely to meet the tight deadline of completing all sound work by the end of the month.

The exact reasons for these reported changes to Pushpa 2’s music team remain unclear.

A lot is riding on the success of Pushpa 2. After the unexpected, phenomenal success of Pushpa 1 in 2020, the filmmakers have gone to great lengths to meet high expectations for the sequel. With a theatrical value estimated to be over Rs 1000 crore, Pushpa 2 is expected to break records, potentially crossing Rs 300 crore globally on its opening day alone.

Pushpa 2 is set to hit cinemas on December 5.
