Actress Aishwarya Lekshmi has shared her morning routine, revealing a supplement that's part of her daily regimen. She noted that she follows this routine as part of her skincare regimen. While in the past, celebrities recommending supplements may not have raised many eyebrows, in the current climate, it comes under serious scrutiny.

For the uninitiated, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently waded into controversy by suggesting a scientifically unsound practice against proper treatment in events of sickness. Celebrity hepatologist Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips, who goes by the name "The Liver Doctor" on social media, took serious exception to Samantha's recommendations and claimed she deserves to be locked up. Needless to say, Cyriac's rebuttal to Samantha kicked up a huge storm in the media and instilled some sense of fear in celebrities about making medicinal recommendations to their followers.

In light of this growing awareness, Aishwarya Lekshmi posted a video revealing how she takes collagen every morning for skin health. She also put out a disclaimer saying she is sharing it out of goodwill and does not intend to promote any products. After showing her followers how she prepares her morning drink, she also cautioned the audience by noting that there is no research to back up the claim that collagen improves skin and bone health. "But, I have known skin doctors who have been taking collagen for more than 10 years, and their skin looks amazing. This is also in combination with how many hours of sleep you get every day, the amount of stress, and being aware of what you put in your system," Aishwarya Lekshmi said in her Instagram story, which has now vanished.

Interestingly, Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips took no issue with Aishwarya recommending supplements to her followers. He even appreciated her for the way she presented the full information to allow her followers to make an informed choice. He also noted that Aiswarya was, to a great degree, positioned to make such recommendations, given her educational background in medical science. While praising Aiswarya, he also took a potshot at celebrities who are medically illiterate.

"These types of videos from celebrities (like from Dr. Aiswarya Lekshmi) are never as endangering as videos from other celebrities (like Ms. Samantha Ruth) that advise the public to avoid medications and inhale nebulized hydrogen peroxide. Maybe celebrities who are health and science-illiterates can ask others who are not before they post absolute public health endangering rubbish on their Instagram handles," said The Liver Doctor, while sharing his opinion on Aishwarya Lekshmi's skincare routine.
