After Gadar 2, Sunny Deol to soon begin shooting for Hindi remake of Malayalam film Joseph
Actor Sunny Deol is set to kick off the shooting of Hindi remake of Malayalam film Joseph in April after wrapping up Gadar 2.
After wrapping up Gadar 2, actor Sunny Deol is all set to begin shooting for the Hindi remake of the 2018 Malayalam crime-thriller Joseph in April. The actor will be stepping into Joju George’s character in the film to be helmed by M Padmakumar who directed the original flick too.
According to Mid-Day, the actor will kickstart the shooting for this Hindi remake next month after wrapping up filming of Gadar 2. The story has been reportedly tweaked to suit the Hindi audience. “Sunny hopes to shoot it in the summer in a start-to-finish schedule. The narrative has been tweaked to appeal to the Hindi-speaking audience. The story is now set in Jaipur." said the source close to the development.
For unversed, the Malayalam film Joseph is centered on a retired police officer, who unexpectedly gets pulled into a criminal case that involves organ harvesting after his ex-wife's death. The film was well-received by the critics and earned a special mention in the National Awards.
Currently, Sunny is busy shooting for his upcoming film Gadar 2. It is a sequel to the 2001 film Gadar which revolved around a couple played by Sunny and actress Ameesha Patel , who are separated by borders and politics between the newly-independent India and Pakistan. The upcoming sequel is reportedly set to pick up from the point when the couple is reunited and returns home to India. To note, Sunny is reuniting with his co-star Ameesha for the sequel, reprising their role as Tara Singh and Sakeena respectively.
Earlier, the video of the team of Gadar 2 celebrating Holi with Sunny Deol surfaced online. In the clip, the actor can be seen throwing colors at director Anil Sharma and other members of the team. The cast and crew also posed together for the camera at the end of the video. Take a look:
