Adipurush box office day 4: Prabhas starrer succumbs to the backlash, witnesses a major downfall in collection

It seems like the trouble for the makers of Adipurush has been increasing amidst the already excessive backlash and trolling surrounding the film. The Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan starrer has succumbed to the negative word-of-mouth from the film and the collections have witnessed a major downfall on its fourth day. The film is based on the Indian epic Ramayan and is helmed by Om Raut.

Talking about the same, according to a news report in Sacnilk, Adipurush has just minted Rs 20 crore on its fourth day. The movie has clearly failed to pass the Monday litmus test owing to the negative criticism. The movie garnered Rs 89 crore, Rs 65 crore, and Rs 69 crore on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively. It had managed to rake in Rs 340 crore worldwide but it seems like the fourth-day collections have acted as a huge roadblock for the Prabhas starrer. With the Monday figures, the Hindi collections of the film stand at Rs 113 crore.

Earlier, trade analyst Taran Adarsh had also tweeted, “THE NEGATIVE WORD OF MOUTH HAS COME INTO PLAY… After a strong opening weekend, Adipurush COLLAPSES on Monday. Hindi version. India biz (business).” Apart from this, there have been several nationwide protests against the makers of Adipurush. According to a news report in Hindustan Times, people from different parts of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have come down to the streets to protest against the dialogues and the presentation of some characters which they feel is a blatant humiliation of the worshipped Indian epic.

The report furthermore added that the writer of Adipurush, Manoj Muntashir has also requested police protection after the same. The movie has Prabhas essay the titular character of Lord Ram. While Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan play the role of Devi Sita and Ravan respectively.
