Adipurush box office Day 3: Prabhas starrer epic drama holds fort strong, crosses Rs 300 crore worldwide

Ever since Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush was released, it has stirred controversy for its presentation and dialogues. However, the box office numbers have remained unaffected by the backlash. The adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana has surpassed Rs 300 crore worldwide in just three days.

Om Raut’s directorial had an impressive start at the ticket counter, earning Rs 140 crore worldwide. The film went on to add another Rs 100 crore on Day 2, taking the total collection to a whopping Rs 240 crore. The incessant trolling against Hanuman’s dialogues and portrayal of Raavan hasn’t decreased the third-day numbers either. The film has earned a massive total number of more than 300 crores at the global box office. In India, the total box office collection stands at 216 crore, across all the languages.

Talking about the Hindi version, trade expert Sumit Kadel tweeted, “#Adipurush ( Hindi ) goes from strength to strength holding its ground and collecting *₹ 38.25 CR.* on day 3 *in Hindi*, has one of the best non-holiday weekend. *Day 1 - ₹ 37.25 CR.* *Day 2 - ₹ 38 CR.* *Day 3 - ₹ 38.25 CR.* *Total - ₹ 113.50 CR nett.” Combining the collection of southern states, the earnings stand at Rs 65 crore on Sunday.

Amid controversies, the makers had recently announced that they will make a few changes in dialogues which hurt the audience’s sentiments."Our aim was to present the true heroes of Sanatan to our younger generation. There is an objection to 5 dialogues and they will be changed. If people are not liking some parts, then it's our responsibility to fix them,” dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir told ANI.

Meanwhile, Adipurush stars Prabhas as Raghava, Kriti Sanon as Janaki Sunny Singh as Lakshamana, Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh and Devdutta Nage as Bajrang. The film also stars Vatsal Sheth and Sonal Chauhan in key roles. Backed by T-Series and Retrophiles, the film was released on June 16 in theatres.
