Abhishek Bachchan’s Dasvi to take OTT route in April; RRR to arrive on digital platform within 75-90 days of theatre release
In the coming months, movie lovers will get to attend two exciting premieres-- of Dasvi and RRR-- from the comforts of their home thanks to streaming platforms.
After winning hearts with Ludo, The Big Bull and Bob Biswas , the very talented and extremely versatile Abhishek Bachchan is all set to return to our screens with his next project, Dasvi. The actor took to his official social media handle today to announce the release date of the film along with a quirky teaser. In the clip, Abhishek tells his fellow prisoners in jail to not make too much noise because he’s preparing for board exams. In the caption, AB wrote: “From one student to another, Dasvi ke exams ke liye dher saari best wishes! #Dasvi streaming from 7th April on @JioCinema & @NetflixIndia.”
Also starring Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur, Dasvi features Abhishek as an uneducated politician. Well much to the delight of the audience, Dasvi is not the only exciting film which will be available for digital streaming in the coming months. SS Rajamouli’s RRR is expected to arrive on OTT platforms soon after its theatre release on 25th March. During the trailer launch in December last year, Jayantilal Gada of PEN India had made the announcement that RRR would premiere on OTT 75 to 90 days after its cinema release.
But this was the case when the film was set to release on 7th January, before it was pushed due to the third wave of COVID-19 . Well, in a recent chat with Bollywood Hungama , Jayantilal Gada confirmed that the plan is still the same for RRR’s digital release on Netflix. He was quoted saying, “Yes, that plan (of releasing RRR on OTT 75 to 90 days after the theatrical release) is very much on. We’ll decide when exactly the film will come on digital after it’s out in theatres.”
Well, get ready to attend two exciting premieres from the comfort of your homes!
