70th National Film Awards 2024 complete winners list: Rishab Shetty, Kantara, Aattam take top honours

    The 70th National Film Awards 2024 were announced on Friday, celebrating the best in Indian cinema across multiple languages and genres. The awards jury, led by Rahul Rawail (Feature Film), Nila Madhab Panda (Non-Feature Film), and Gangadhar Mudalair (Best Writing on Cinema), evaluated a diverse pool of contenders. This year, 309 feature films in 32 languages, 130 non-feature films in 17 languages, 26 books, and 10 film critics competed for the coveted honors, all recognizing performances from 2022.

    Best Actor in a Leading Role: Rishab Shetty for Kantara

    Best Director: Sooraj R. Barjatya for Uunchai

    Best Feature Film: Aattam, directed by Anand Ekarshi

    Best Actress in a Leading Role: Shared by Nithya Menen for Thiruchitrambalam and Mansi Parekh for the Gujarati film Kutch Express

    Best Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment: Kantara

    Best Debut Director: Pramod Kumar for Fouja

    Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social, and Environmental Values: Kutch Express

    Best Film in Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comic: Brahmastra
