    Kollywood’s versatile actor Suriya has completed 27 years in the film industry, and his fans are celebrating this glorious milestone with numerous posts and tributes on social media. The actor made his cinematic debut with the 1997 film Nerrukku Ner, which interestingly also starred Thalapathy Vijay alongside him. As the film turns 27 today, the makers of his upcoming film Suriya 44, with director Karthik Subbaraj, have joined fans in celebrating the milestone with a special treat!

    The makers took to their social media pages to unveil a special poster featuring the actor in a vintage look. Sharing the poster, they wrote, "A journey of determination that began with #NerrukkuNer has reached another milestone. #27YearsOfSuriya #27YearsOfSuryaism.     The new poster features the actor wearing a yellow and brown jacket while riding a vintage bullet. However, what caught the audience's attention was the actor's moustache and retro pair of shades, that exuded the typical Karthik Subbaraj film aesthetic. The poster has undoubtedly elevated the excitement around the film, and fans can't wait to learn more about it. 

    Shooting update

    As announced earlier, the team is currently filming in Kerala for a brief schedule. Reportedly, almost 70% of the film has already been shot, and the entire production is expected to wrap up by October.

    Written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Suriya 44 marks the maiden collaboration between Suriya and the director. When the project was initially announced, the makers released a first-look poster featuring an arrow piercing the bark of a tree, with flames in the background and the silhouette of a car. The caption under the poster read, “#Love Laughter War,” hinting that the film might be an action-packed romantic comedy. The title of the film and other key details are yet to be disclosed. 

    The film stars Suriya and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, with Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Sujith Shankar, Thamizh, Ramachandran Durairaj, Prem Kumar, Sandeep Raj, Remya Suresh, and MD Asif in supporting roles. Shriya Saran is rumored to be doing a dance number cameo in the film. On the technical front, the film's original background score and soundtrack are composed by Santhosh Narayanan, with cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna and editing by Shafique Mohamed Ali.
