During an interview with Zoom, when the interviewer asked Zayed if there was any turmoil at home while growing up because of his father Sanjay Khan’s relationship with veteran actress Zeenat Aman, the actor said that at the time, the entire film industry was like the "wild wild west".

He added that this was not just happening with his father but in every household in the industry. Zayed said there were only one or two oddballs who were sincere and grounded.

“I was a youngster. I used to see these guys party and they used to have their jazzy Versace shirts and their whole thing...it was a completely different era,” he said.

    Did Sanjay hurt Zeenat’s eye?

For those unaware, Sanjay and Zeenat were rumoured to be dating each other during the 1970s. It is also alleged that Sanjay attacked Zeenat, which affected her vision in her right eye. Speaking about the injury, the actress shared that the injury caused her eyelids to droop and affected her vision. She added that 40 years later, medical advancements have made it possible for her to regain her vision.

Responding to Zeenat’s allegations, Sanjay Khan told Hrishikesh Kannan that he never slapped her and that it was a PR attack against him, which came like a blitzkrieg.

Speaking about her eye, Sanjay said that Zeenat's mother had a squint and it was hereditary. He said, “If you see ’81, ’82, ’83, ’84, she did several films. There is evidence that she had perfect eyes. Later in life, she became a little squint because her mother was a bit squint. It was a hereditary thing that was labeled on me. I never slapped her, and this was blasphemy.”
