‘Your films will also be beaten’: Kangana Ranaut on Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga wanting to work with her
After Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga spoke about offering Kangana Ranaut a role in the future, the actress gave him a reason not to do so with her latest tweet
In Animal, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga transformed actor Ranbir Kapoor into Balbir Singh’s son Ranvijay Singh, an alpha male. The film emerged as a blockbuster hit and minted truckloads of money at the box office. Ranbir’s performance and versatility were also celebrated. However, much like Kabir Singh, Animal was slammed for glorifying toxic masculinity and misogyny. Actress Kangana Ranaut had also shared a post calling Animal a ‘woman beating film’. She even claimed that her heart sank, looking at the condition of women in some recently released films. Well, Vanga recently reacted to her review of Animal.
In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, the filmmaker stated that he didn’t feel bad about Kangana’s words. Vanga went on to add that if he gets a chance, and he felt she was right for a role, he would definitely narrate a film to Kangana in the future because he is a fan of her work. Well, Kangana was quick to respond to this interview. She took to her official social media handle to thank the filmmaker but asked him not to offer her a role. She tweeted: “Review and criticism are not the same, every kind of art should be reviewed and discussed, it is a normal thing.”
She went on to write: “The way Sandeep ji showed respect towards me by smiling at my review, it can be said that he not only makes manly films, his attitude is also manly, thank you sir 🙏But please don't ever give me any role otherwise your alpha male heroes will become feminist and then your films will also be beaten, you make blockbusters, the film industry needs you 🙏😁.”
Well, hearing Vanga left fans excited for a possible collaboration in the future. Maybe Kangana would change her mind if she really liked a script narrated to her by the filmmaker some day? We’ll just have to patiently wait for that day.
